Be Good to People

Unknown     7/30/2015  No comments

You will be happy by simply doing good things. You can do it anywhere, anytime. I want you to think this way: How can I be a blessing to others? You can be good to people by doing very simple things. It doesn't have to be big. Start making someone happy. Make someone smile.

At home

We don't need to wait for a special occasion like your sister's birthday. When you wake up in the morning, you know she loves coffee, go ahead and make her a cup of coffee. That simple thing will surely make her smile. You will surely make her day.

Give your mom a hug. Give her a massage before she goes to sleep. You can just even say, "Good night mom. I love you." You will surely put a smile on her face. She will surely have a good night sleep.

In the office

Your work starts as early as 7 in the morning. Your colleague is in grumpy mode and you saw her entered the room wearing a wrinkled forehead. On your first break, grab her a snack. You've been together for quite some time so maybe you already know what she wants like chocolates or coffee. Give it to her. What I suggest, to make it more thoughtful, you can place it on her desk. You can put a simple note like, "You are beautiful when you smile". You can choose to include your name or not. It's up to you.

In school

When you have a classmate who is very shy, just go to her, give her a tap at the back and say "Hey, you can do it." It will surely boost her confidence and will surely make her day.

On the road, when you see your neighbor, give her a ride. In the mall, when you see your friend, give her a sincere compliment. It will surely make her day. When you are crossing the street and see an old woman carrying things, don't hesitate to help. Just don't run. (Kidding)

Last year, I went to Singapore with my colleagues. I was waiting for an old friend but we almost got lost in the mall. I asked a stranger if she knows a payphone in the area. She smiled at me, lend me her mobile phone and said, "Here, use this." I didn't know what to say and before I uttered any word, she told me, "Go on. Don't be shy. You can use it."

I called my friend and he's right at the entrance door waiting for me for 15 minutes. I thanked that stranger a hundred times for helping me. She absolutely made my day. She was an angel in disguise. Without her, I was not able to see my friend.

Those things that I mentioned, those things that you can do at home, in the office, in school or anywhere, those are exactly the things I always do. That was me. And now, I am even more happy. Start doing good things to others and others will be good to you as well.

If you want to be happy, make someone happy. The real joy in life is not in what we get but in what we give. Make someone's day and God will surely make your day. Be a blessing.
